Forts Ferry B+ Day

Friday, May 3rd

Forts Ferry Elementary School celebrated the 1st Annual B+ Day on Friday, May 3rd in honor of Farhan.  Farhan attended Forts Ferry Elementary School and recently returned to the halls of Forts Ferry to help out in classrooms working with students.  This event began with the inspiration of Farhan’s sixth grade homeroom teacher, Ms. Jill Regan.  The overriding goal of the day is for everyone to step back and find the joy in life as well as to “pay it forward” to bring joy into the lives of others.  Different activities undertaken during this special day included creating 500+ craft bags for patients at the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, notes of kindness, friendship bracelets, paper crane scavenger hunt, games with sixth grade students as well as learning the Floss dance in kindergarten and playing cooperative games with classmates.

We were very fortunate to have Farhan’s parents visit the school on this day to see first-hand the great activities as they were unfolding. We will be enjoying a 2nd Annual B+ Day next year on or around Farhan’s birth date of May 2nd.
